
Yes, it's true - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has just announced a temporary increase in the city's hotel tax, by almost 1%. That brings the aggregate hotel tax to 14.25 percent, and an estimated $20 million extra tax revenue in 2009 and approximately $61 million in 2010.
